Rainbow Jell-O Cups

A delicious and colorful activity for kids of all ages
Course Dessert
Cuisine American
Servings 6 cups

Equipment

  • food scale optional
  • glass measuring cup

Ingredients

  • 6 packages colored gelatin, such as Jell-O one in each rainbow color

Instructions

  • Empty each Jello flavor into a plastic bag (so you can save the unused powder for next time).
  • Prepare your first color (I used purple). Fill a glass measuring cup with 1/3 cup hot water.
  • Measure two tablespoons of Jello powder (approximately 28 grams if using a food scale) and mix into hot water.
  • Add 1/3 cup cold water to mixture.
  • Divide liquid Jello between 6 serving glasses.
  • Chill until set, at least two hours.
  • Repeat steps 2-6 with each additional flavor of Jello until you have a rainbow!

Notes

This recipe is designed to use 1/3 of each package of Jello, so you’ll be able to do it again two more times! If you’d like to make more or less Jello, I suggest challenging your kids to put their math skills to work to figure out how much Jello powder and water you’ll need.
